Porco Rosso

This film was initialy conceived as an entertainment for the passengers of Japan Airlines. It is based on a manga film called "The age of the flying boat" produced by Miyazaki.

Marco Pagot is an ace of the Italian navy during the First World War. Due to an extrange curse, his face turn to be very similar to a pig. With all of his navy mates dead, he lives hidden in an Island of the Adriatic ocean, living as a reward hunter.

The movie haves an old fashioned flavour, it is very close to the classics as it remarks some virtues proper of the ancient heroes. Marco is still in love with Gina, a beautiful women but he is disillusioned because of his ugly physical appearance. Porco is defeated by an american flying ace who also pretends Gina.

Instead Porco is a grumpy person and seems to be appart of the world, he is a good person and the viewer of the movie would get friendly with him very early. One of my favourites movies!
